the things kids say....

Yesterday morning while eating breakfast, Jenna and I had a conversation about the bananas we had:

J: "Mom, what's wrong with those bananas?

me: "What do you mean sweetie?"

J: "Why are they brown?"

me: "Oh, because they're getting old."

J: "Is the inside brown too?"

me: "No, the inside is just fine, but the skin turns brown when they get old"

J: "Oh, okay"

Later on, we went to the eye doctor. When Jenna is nervous around new people she starts rattling off whatever is on her mind:

J: "Do you know what happened to Grandma Betsy?" (my mom - who she's been asking about a lot lately)

Eye Doctor: "No, what happened?"

J: "She died."

Eye doctor: "Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Was she very old?"

J: "Yep. Just like those brown bananas!"
